One of my favorite things about this time of year… is the food – well, of course!

While it’s certainly fun to experiment with all of the creative cookie recipes and impressive appetizers to serve to guests, we have a few staple recipes the stick around year after year. It would not be Christmas without my mom’s Sherry Cheese Dip or bourbon balls!

For years and years we had Christmas dinners with my grandparents. We’d open presents on Christmas morning at Grandma Younger’s in New Jersey with coffeecake and OJ (and sometimes leftover pineapple cake!) and then we’d drive south to Maryland where Gram and Pop would host the whole family for a formal Christmas dinner. We loved being at the kids’ table with our cousins, and the food was always perfection. I honestly don’t know how my grandparents did it!

5 Ingredient Bourbon Balls

When I think of Christmas, I think of bourbon (probably because my grandparents loved Manhattans). This easy 5-ingredient bourbon balls recipe is a family favorite and makes a great addition to any holiday cookie swap or party dessert spread!

Mom’s Spinach Soufflé

A classic brunch dish that everyone loves – it’s light and fluffy with that creamy, comforting taste. Bonus, you get in a serving of greens! The spiced up version is my fav, but mom’s original recipe is here

Eggnog Spiced Baked Oatmeal

And while we’re on the topic of eggnog, soak your oats in it too! This baked oatmeal recipe can be prepared in advance and reheated for an easy but special breakfast. I recommend a little whipped cream on top!

Cranberry Almond Chocolate Clusters

These make a delicious holiday gift for friends and neighbors. The base of this recipe is simply nuts and dried fruit, but the clusters are spiced up a bit with cinnamon, nutmeg, a pinch of cayenne, and a sprinkle of sea salt, which is key!

Salted Almond Chocolate Bark

This DIY salted almond chocolate bark recipe is easy to customize with whatever nuts you have on hand. The flaked salt is key! It also makes a perfect homemade gift. Add candy canes and red and green M&Ms for a holiday theme.
